Job Description
Summary:
The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for designing, building, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds used in manufacturing processes. This role requires advanced machining skills, precision craftsmanship, and the ability to interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure tooling meets production requirements and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, repair, and modify tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds according to engineering specifications.
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, CAD drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
Set up and operate manual and CNC machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, EDM machines, and drill presses.
Fit, assemble, and test completed tooling for correct function, alignment, and precision.
Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
Qualifications:
Experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a precision machining role
Strong proficiency with manual machining and working knowledge of CNC operations/programming.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
Excellent problem-solving, math, and measurement skills.
Experience with metal stamping, injection molds, or precision tooling preferred.
