Job Description: Housekeeping / Janitorial Supervisor

As a Supervisor, you will lead and support a team of 25+ housekeepers and janitors to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control standards are met across all assigned areas of the facility. You’ll be responsible for task delegation, quality control, team development, and collaboration with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily housekeeping operations in clinical and non-clinical areas

  • Act as a technical resource to team members

  • Provide effective utilization of personnel, policies, and procedures

  • Monitor and inspect cleaning quality and safety standards across all assigned areas

  • Oversee caregiver performance, conduct evaluations, and provide coaching

  • Approve and manage staff schedules, PTO, and leave requests while ensuring cross-coverage

  • Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained at all times

  • Coordinate and deliver training, orientation, and ongoing education

  • Analyze workflows and procedures to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness

  • Lead process improvements to optimize departmental operations

  • Communicate with facility stakeholders and report maintenance or operational issues

  • Uphold infection control and hospital hygiene protocols

Requirements:

One of the following:
  • 3 years of experience as a work leader, team lead, or project manager
    • 1 year of supervisory experience in a related field
    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of 25+ employees

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions

  • Detail-oriented with a professional appearance

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities


Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires dexterity sufficient to operate a computer.
  • Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and lifting.
  • Medium work-exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move heavy objects.
  • Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
