Duties/Responsibilities: Billing Specialist
- Maintains Client Files with rate and guideline specific information.
- Maintains Fee schedules.
- Prints monthly invoice pre-bills, edits and finalizes.
- Processes invoices by the 15th of each month.
- Once edits have been completed and returned, review prebills to ensure client specific guidelines are met.
- Sends out monthly and quarterly invoices.
- Checks status of write-downs on invoices on all websites and processes write offs for non-appealable amounts.
- Submits appeals per client timelines.
- Manage adding and approving new clients, matters, rates, timekeepers, budgets and case set-up forms to the numerous electronic billing websites.
- Collections on past due accounts for all electronically billed clients.
- Provides weekly report for hours worked for Associates and Paralegals.
- Duplicates, files and retrieves accounts receivable material as needed for submission of invoices.
- Generates reports for specific clients.
Required Skills/Abilities: Receptionist / Administrative Assistant
- Previous experience in an Billing, Accounts Payable, or similar fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and is essential.
- Strong computer & math skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent typing skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and proofreading.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a legal office environment is advantageous but not required. Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a high school diploma, associate degree preferred
