Job Title: Medical Records Specialist
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Medical Records Specialist to support the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of patient health information. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless coordination of medical documentation while maintaining strict compliance with all privacy regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment where precision and confidentiality are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately maintain, update, and manage patient medical records within electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Process and fulfill incoming and outgoing medical records requests in a timely and compliant manner
  • Ensure all documentation meets regulatory, legal, and organizational standards, including HIPAA compliance
  • Review records for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation; follow up on discrepancies as needed
  • Scan, index, and upload documents to ensure proper record organization and accessibility
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support documentation needs and workflow efficiency
  • Handle sensitive patient information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Assist with internal audits, quality assurance initiatives, and process improvements
  • Perform general administrative and clerical support duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or a related role preferred
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical record handling procedures
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
