Packaging Associate / Shipping & Production Assistant

Location: Sarasota, FL
Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Packaging Associate to support production and shipping operations in Sarasota. This position involves painting, packaging, stacking boxes, reading bills of materials, and preparing products for shipment. Candidates with experience completing packing slips, customs paperwork, and bills of lading may qualify for higher pay.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow bills of materials (BOMs) and production instructions.
  • Paint products and components according to work instructions.
  • Package finished products carefully to prevent damage during shipping.
  • Assemble, pack, and stack boxes for shipment.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Verify products and quantities against work orders and shipping requirements.
  • Prepare packing slips, customs documentation, and bills of lading when qualified.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow company quality standards and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand bills of materials.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and meet production deadlines.
  • Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Previous manufacturing, painting, packaging, or shipping experience preferred.
  • Experience with packing slips, customs paperwork, and bills of lading is a plus and may qualify candidates for higher pay.

Compensation

  • Starting pay of $18.00 per hour.
  • Higher pay may be available for candidates with shipping documentation and related experience
